Our skilled fish merchants buy fresh seafood from the quayside daily, ensuring top quality. We only source seafood from responsible fisheries, and it’s fully traceable and undergoes Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) for peak freshness. One of our Award winning suppliers is Wing of St Mawes Wholesale Fish Merchants they have been buying and supplying fresh fish, shellfish and smoked fish to the hotel and catering trade for 40 years.

Where does our seafood come from?

While our expert fish merchants buy from Devon and Cornish water. Buying the best fish while it’s in season is the key to superb seafood preparation. Fish that is in season is plentiful, of excellent quality, and frequently less expensive. Additionally, it supports wholesome fisheries. We take the scientists’ advice when they suggest that a local, wild stock needs a break from fishing since we’re devoted to assisting in the improvement of the health of Cornish and British fish stocks. When this happens, we find a more abundant and sustainable wild stock of that species for you, either locally or from a supplier who sources from further afield.

 
 
 
 
 

There are hundreds of different types of edible seafood from Cornish Crab to Faroe Salmon. In the UK, we are fortunate to have access to a wide variety of delicious fish and shellfish and we stock online the very freshest and best catch of the day

 
 

Seafood caught at sea by fishing trawlers is immediately frozen at sea to preserve freshness. Benefit of purchasing frozen food from Love What You Eat is that we “blast freeze” our shellfish and fish which locks in freshness and only adds a thin layer of ice. Other methods of freezing seafood increase the ice and therefore increases the weight. This additional weight costs more and is directly passed on to customers who often believe that they are getting more for their money.
